Weibo Q&A with the Grandmaster himself:
Q: Tony, if there was a good script and a good role, would you consider acting in a musical?
A: I think so. Back when I was releasing albums, that thought had crossed my mind.
Q: What do you do when you're not filming?
A: Mostly
exercising, having fun, reading. Lately I've been reading Xu Haofeng's (the screenwriter for The Grandmaster) latest novel.
Q: What was the highlight for you in the movie?
A: Probably the fight scene in the rain. That left the deepest impression on me and it was a lot of hard work.
Q: What are your aspirations right now?
A: My aspirations
I hope tonight's dinner will be good!
Q: Tony, there's a question I've always wanted to ask you. Why are you so handsome?
A: That you'll have to ask my mom.
Q: Mr. Leung, good job! Kung fu training is hard and you fought so well in the movie! Will you consider filming a martial arts movie again in the future? What are your plans for your next film?
A: As long as there's a good script I will continue to film martial arts movies. Right now I don't have any plans. I'm going to rest a bit before my next film.
Q: Which country do you want to visit the most?
A: Maldives.
Q: What do you think was the biggest breakthrough for you while filming The Grandmaster?
A: Everyone improves day by day. For me a breakthrough isn't necessary. The reason why I do things is actually very simple. I received a lot from this movie and it allowed me to learn new things.
Q: After watching this movie, I improved quite a bit on my exams! Will you write me a line to further motivate me? HEHE
A: After finishing this movie, I learned the importance of persistence. The hardest thing to do is also maintaining your persistence. So no matter what you do, I hope everyone remembers not to give up!
Q: There were so many classic lines in the film. Which one did you like the most? The line that you liked the most, was it because you experienced it yourself?
A: I liked a lot of lines. But the most touching to me was during the HK screening. In the opening narration, the line "One belt brings one breath. Be a person worthy of this breath". If there wasn't people sitting beside me, I would probably be crying
(Sorry, not poetic enough. Basically it means to use this one breath to carry you forward in life, without forgetting its importance.)
Q: In your next film, will you do the voice dubbing yourself?
A: Since we were short on time, I wasn't able to for this film. Next time I will definitely do the mandarin voice dubbing.

I didn't translate a few questions pertaining to actual scenes in the movie, since I don't want to spoil myself.
And my question wasn't answered!! LOL |

Tony promoting in Beijing again (Jan. 19th 2013)
