Surprised but happy to see Zhang Ziyi in the cast. She and TL have good chemistry. I think she's my fav Chinese actress -)

I'm sorry, I would have preferred Miss Lin.
She is a better - more mature - actress, extremely charming and more on the same pace - in acting - as Tony.

I think the posters make the film look very exciting. It seems the IMDB at present is listing the release date as 2012! Is this a reliable source because if it has been pushed back I will be sad? The last I heard the film was releasing in HK in December.

I'm afraid that is reliably and sadly accurate.
The "Grandmaster" himself has said that "The End is still very far away."

Let's just hope that the release date is Jan 01, 2012 Laughing

I guess this might be very difficult to deal for Tony - for planning his next projects.......and changing the characters........hard like "2046" ? (though he has a lot of experience with cherished WKW )

(So perhaps the "The Magician" will be released earlier than "The Grandmasters" - "who knows" Wink

Thanks to you as well for posting the movie posters, keeping us all up to date.

The posters are amazing, Interesting to see a name change to the movie, The Grandmasters.... leaves us trying to guess more about the film as if we are not excited enough.

WKW and Tony have come up with something really special. We will never know how they manage to come up with new ideas and surprises everytime, it's a sign of their great talents.

Can't wait to see the movie, hopefully it will come to my country. I really want to see it on a cinema screen so I am wishing and a hoping the cinema near me that usually supports Tony Leung and WKW movies supports the Grandmasters and all their future projects.
