Found another video from the same performance. This is apparently a piece from West Side Story.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=55YAp_RxOco&NR=1

His conducting skills are fantastic, Leehom looks like he's having fun up there and the crowd were loving him too! I'm counting down the days until Heartbeat comes out now! Is there anything this guy CAN'T do? I hear he'll be touring the States next month, will you be going summertime? Also do you by any chance own Leehom's Shangri-La album? If so where did you buy it? I can't find it anywhere to be shipped to the UK. Could you kindly help me find it, because I haven't had any luck so far?

He really does have it all. He's such a bright guy and seems genuinely nice to boot.

I'm hoping he'll come to Toronto Smile

And yes, I have Shangri-la - I posted this earlier - pg 2:

I'll be getting Heartbeat as well Smile

Thanks a lot, summertime. I'm now getting the cd from the link you posted. I'm really happy. BTW I asked you if you were going to any gig on his US tour because I thought you might be quite near to any of the places he'll play, being in Canada yourself. Yes, Leehom is a genuinely nice, modest and unassuming, intelligent guy, no doubt. Have you seen the Making Of featurette of Lust, Caution? Ang Lee is saying on there about how modest and hardworking he is and how he reminds him of himself, when he was young. Tang Wei also says something like "He's so famous in Asia" (referring to his recording career). Also Leehom talks a bit himself on there about Tony and Ang. I recommend you watch it, if you haven't already, although the features on the region 2 DVD might not be the same as any one you might come across in Canada or the US.

A fantastic recent article on Leehom, that my Dad's Taiwanese friend sent him (to pass on to me) just this morning. The guy is just so intelligent, astute and humble. He talks about his music and Lust, Caution mostly here.

Thanks a lot for that article - a very enjoyable read !

You're welcome for the link, I'm glad it worked out. In terms of going to the U.S., I'd rather hold out for him to come to Canada. I've seen that Lust, Caution special feature as well, and I believe it's the exact same one as yours.

MV - with English subtitles - Spring Rain Washes Away The Sun - new song

very relaxing - 真係好舒服啊 Smile

Here are a couple of articles I found about Leehom's conducting I thought I'd share.

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/a8ee3396-d5c1-11dd-a9cc-000077b07658.html The sandbox quote is very apt here, I think!

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/showbiz/2008-12/25/content_7341153.htm
Some pictures and it a bit of blurb. Sounds like the crowd there were loving him!

BTW summertime, do you have his new album Heartbeat yet? I just got it through the post today and think it's great. Some of the songs are completely different from his usual style, but I count them as exciting experiments. Are you also aware if he has any new film roles in the pipeline because the IMDB says he has an "in development" credit? Or is this a mistake and he's just focusing on his music, because he does seem to be here, there and everywhere at the mo? Here he is at the China Ringtone Awards Ceromony in Beijing on the 29th December, pictured here with Jay Chou. They both performed there as well. I'm loving Leehom's new hairdo! love

Here he is talking to the press afterwards as well.

I think he's lost his American accent these days, probably from being based in Taiwan most of the time now. summertime, could you tell me the gist of what he's saying here?

Thanks for those Smile

No, I don't have his album yet, but I've heard it. I like how he takes risks, and changes it up from album to album.

Don't quote me, but I believe he's supposed to start shooting a Jackie Chan film in February. The guy doesn't seem to know the meaning of rest. Cool pic of Leehom and Jay.

In the clip, he's basically talking about his new album - also, the way he said "music man" seems like he deliberately put a Mandarin twist on the pronunciation.

He's going to be on CNN's Talk Asia on Jan 14th:

Here's an article about the Jackie Chan film he could be starring in http://www.kungfucinema.com/?p=4430 and a recent bomb scare on a plane that he got caught up in http://news.asiaone.com/News/Latest%2BNews/Showbiz/Story/A1Story20090114-114674.html BTW do you know which religion Leehom follows because from that article it sounds like he is? Is he a Buddhist, Taoist or something like that?

Thanks for those articles. I knew about the bomb scare, but didn't know they were searched without explanation.

Leehom is a Christian - he was a World Vision ambassador before:

I had another great dream last night featuring Leehom! This probably comes from the fact that I listened to 2 of his albums (Shangri-La and Heroes Of Earth) yesterday! In my dream I was his girlfriend and I remember several parts of what happened very vividly. He was so kind to me, pretty much the perfect boyfriend, at one part I was getting upset over something and he had his arms round me (as I was crying) saying "Don't worry, It'll all be ok". I also recall being kissed by him (on the lips) and lying in bed next to him while he was sleeping, but sadly that's all the details I can remember right now!

I really enjoyed that Talk Asia interview. I had posted a clearer version earlier. Wang Leehom seems so normal and down-to-earth.
