The chat took place on TTimes Online Chat(TTimes no longer exist, another dot com bubble),
10/19/2000, 16:50-17:45 Taiwan Time.
Following is the conversation took place between me and Tony. I only translated the ones that I asked because it's very special to me. For once, I am actually speaking to TLCW himself. Hopefully he will be doing more online chatting soon.
Sandy: If you have the chance of reliving your life again, what would
you do it differently? Tony: Hmmm, Nothing different I guess. Everything that I have gone
through made who I am today.
Sandy: Who is your favorite co-star, male and female... Tony: Female: Maggie Cheung. She is my favorite co-star
Sandy: Have you thought of getting married? having kids? Do you like
kids? Tony: I like kids if they are my kids. Marriage... Don't have time to
think about it.
Sandy: What kind of books are you reading now, I read you are an avid
reader.... Tony: Detectives
Sandy: Early in your life, you weigh your movie career above
everything else. What is your priority now? Tony: Family and friends
Sandy: Just let you know I am in the west coast, fighting the sleeping
bug here. It's 2:30AM here. Jesus...
Sandy: You said you might consider coming to Hollywood. What kind of
role would you consider taking?
Sandy: Do you enjoy fan's interaction, or do you think it's a burden
that you had to carry being a celebrity? Tony: Not a burden. I think it's natural for fans become interested when
a new movie is showing.
Sandy: Will you come to US anytime soon? Hollywood perhaps? Please say
yes! Tony: Heehee... Yes(a definite yes)
Sandy: Will you sign my guestbook again? I am the unofficial TLCW
webmaster. Hope you still remember me! Tony: Sandy.... yes of course I remember you. I have been out of the
country for a long time, my internet connection was cut. I didn't have access to
the web.
Sandy: Really appreciate you taken the time out. Best wishes, and get
healthy soon.
Due to the nature of the chat, with so many questions throwing at him, he
answers each question with sincerity. Some of the answers were rushed because
the limited time constrain.
As for my questions, they weren't very thought through. I didn't think I could stay up so late to join the chat. But I guess my curiosity took over. I was awake and quite shaken by the fact I was actually chatting with TLCW. My hands were trembling when typing the first few words. :-)
