I'm just happy to see Tony's pics Laughing
Other than the traditional DAY (Veterans, Armistice, etc) on November 11th in the west, 11/11 is also known as "Singles' Day". I read this wiki entry for the first time today Smile

Thanks for sharing all those pics!

Here in Germany (also in Austria) on 11.11. at 11.11am is the beginning of carnival which ends on ash wednesday the following year. On this day we also celebrate St. Martin's day.
If you are interested you can read about those customs here:

Many thanks for the update, dear yitian Very Happy
I enjoyed watching the pix and videos Very Happy....and learning about unknown November-customs Laughing

To Tin-Yau many thanks as well ! German winter-customs are very similar to austrians indeed Wink ...
Although: The Germans celebrate traditional "Karneval" much more
passionate and better organized joker , than we our "Fasching" Wink... I guess.
