ITMFL should have been No.2 at least. But I'm glad that the No.1 is still a TL film and another fav of mine and that most of TL's films made the list.
Congratulations to TL- undoubtedly/undisputedly, the best actor in Hong Kong.
Thanks yitian |

Yeah, but where's Tony on the Best Performances list? No "2046"? No "Happy Together?" _________________ "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." - Groucho Marx |

Tony got 8 votes for "Happy Together" and unfortunately only 2 for "2046" (could be 4 votes if you and I were members and voted ). I also couldn't believe he only got 4 votes for "Lust Caution" . These numbers may be influenced by the overall popularity of movies
However the list below, from the same site, confirms - Tony is the best actor ever
Total votes per actor, cutting off at 3 votes:
Tony Leung Chiu-Wai 73
Chow Yun-Fat 60
Leslie Cheung 52
Maggie Cheung 49
Lau Ching-Wan 40
Anthony Wong 38
Francis Ng 35
Andy Lau 31
Stephen Chow 28
Brigitte Lin 24
Faye Wong 24
Tony Leung Ka-Fai 23
Anita Mui 22

Sandra Ng 11
Donnie Yen 10
Michelle Yeoh 9
Anita Yuen 8
Bruce Lee 8
Cecilia Cheung 8
Jacky Cheung 7
Lam Ching-Ying 7
Nick Cheung 6
Carina Lau 5
Louis Koo 5
Sammo Hung 5
Daniel Wu 4

You nailed it, Yitian. It's basically a popularity contest between the movies, which, of course, has absolutely nothing to do with the acting. "Lust, Caution" shouldn't have been on the lists, anyway, as it wasn't really a HK film. But REALLY, it's like they're saying Tony's work in Chungking Express was better than HT and 2046. Chungking Express was probably a walk in the park for Tony. Oh well, it's not like actors and directors participated in the vote....
Lol! Tony's the best actor ever, but they don't know why! And Zhou Xun with only three votes??? Sheesh! _________________ "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." - Groucho Marx |
