Take your time. Best thing is, give it to us drop by drop. This way it will last longer! Wink

Location No. 2: University Hall- Hong Kong Island - Hong Kong (<Mack the Knife>)

University Hall is a historical student residence of the University of Hong Kong. It is located at No. 144 Pok Fu Lam Road, close to the Pok Fu Lam Reservoir within the Pok Fu Lam Country Park on the western side of Hong Kong Island.

The building itself dates back to 1861 when a wealthy Scottish trader named Douglas Lapraik build Douglas Castle as place of his residence. University Hall was formally established in 1954 after the University of Hong Kong bought the heritage building from the French Mission in Hong Kong, as part of one of the early enlargement plans to the university's student residence.

Location No. 2: University Hall- Hong Kong Island - Hong Kong (<Mack the Knife>)

How To Get There

Bus Station: Pok Fu Lam Reservoir Road
Bus No.: 4、4X、7、40、40M、43X、46X、71、90B、91、94、970、970X、973、A107
Minibus No.: 22、22S、23、31、63

Suggest take bus No. 7. You can get on the bus at the bus terminal under Exchange Square in Central (MTR Hong Kong Station exit A1). Bus fare is around HK$ 6.

The hall is on the top of a little hill which locates on the east of Pok Fu Lam Road. The bus stop is on Pok Fu Lam Road. After getting off the bus, walk along the road for several minutes and find Pok Fu Lam Reservoir Road (walk heading south) or a small road to The University of Hong Kong High West (walk heading north). You can get to the University Hall through either of the two roads.

This 150-year old Gothic building is the Faculty of Medicine in the film <Mack the Knife>. Quite a few scenes were shooted here. This place is highly recommended as it has not changed at all after all these 17 years since the film was shooted in 1995. This is just incredible in this ever-changing city of Hong Kong. The building, the stairs, the trees, the small path, the little bridge……All of them look so familiar if you have seen the film.
