During this disaster the world has seen the calm, dignified and courageous side of the Japanese people. You are truly to be admired.

Even your messages here show your kindness and strong personalities.

We were hoping the worst was over but everyday there is sad news and new struggles to be faced.

Here in lovely sunshine I saw pink cherry blossom in a church garden and thought even though it's beautiful how much more beautiful it must be in Japan. I thought of all your struggles and truly wish you can someday enjoy Cherry Blossom season without a care in the world.

Hope this all ends soon, your country has gone through enough.

Dear Japanese friends,

Japan is the only country to have experienced nuclear attacks. The country that lost the WWII. The country that suffers from typhoons every year and the earthquakes. However, isn’t Japan the country that always stood up and overcame such difficulties? Ganbare. Ganbare !!!

Hi Cisca,

Arigatou. Smile

You’re right. As we look back our past history, we have overcome many challenges.
So I’d like to believe we’ll overcome this crisis, too .
And I’m sure this will influence nuclear power policy around the world.
We have to create better societies for our future generations with courage and wisdom.

Dear Yuko and Japanese friends -

This terrible cathastrophe, which ravaged you country with high impect for all of you - is beyond our all grasp.
In European medias we read/see rescue work and recovery operations work better and better, though a lot of people are still living under worst conditions - physically and mentally.
(Hope the support- and living conditions for all of you in Tokyo develope to a better too.)

"Every cloud has a silver lining" : It initiated solidarity and security discussions and reflections in case of Atomic-Power - all over the world - hope this shock effect lasts longer, they learned and draw the conclusions from - for our all future - let´s hope so.

Dear strong friends, even it is hard to believe now, but : "This too will pass"

Thinking of you further on - and wishing you all the best !
Helga

Paul, I don’t know if you have energy right now to read this post.
If you need any help in Japanese pls. contact me.
But the problem is, mobile phone won’t work in the crisis like last Friday...

Yuka, many thanks for that information. It is indeed useful and thanks for your offer of help. So far I am ok, although it's been a crazy 2 weeks here in Tokyo. Everyone living on my floor has moved out because of the radiation fears last week. My building is almost empty. Co-workers too also left the company I work for and also some of my friends left due to radiation fears in Tokyo. My family were asking me to think about coming home but I am trying to keep calm and I do not yet feel in danger to leave. I still go to work (even during blackouts) and I think things are better than before. Can finally buy things like milk and bread again.

Not enjoying these daily aftershocks either. They have me running out of my room in the early hours of the morning.

If I can also be of help to anyone in Japan reading this please let me know. I can share sealed food or bottled water if someone needs it.

Everyone keep safe!

Paul, glad to know you’re Ok and in state of being in control. Very Happy

What we’re facing now is that we have to judge whether huge quantity of information are credible or not.
Also important thing is not to get too jumpy about the things any kind of media or the officials say,
because people will be easily carried away in the situation like this .

Situation here in Tokyo..
Still lacking some food supplies ( I think there’s too many products in Tokyo, so I don’t find it inconvenient. )
Temporal blackouts in some regions around Tokyo. Public transportation is almost normalized for major lines.
But these are nothing compared to what happened in northern region.
There’re many charity campaigns being held in town. ( Also around the world. I’m very grateful about that.)
I hope this kind of movement isn’t only temporal but continues while it’s required.

Not only many lives were lost and still many people are living in temporary shelters,
there’s apparent economic slowdown in Japan which is already affecting global market.

As for me, still afraid of minor quakes and restless. My work is 5 times busier because of 3.11.

My brother, who also lives and works in Tokyo, is now in Tohoku region temporary to help as a volunteer.
Hope there’ll be no big quakes while he’s around and wishing for him to come back safely.

Hoping step by step things are getting better.

Cisca, Always I appreciate your thoughtfulness for Japanese Friends.
You are very very good person.I believe your goodwill.

But Do you know"Journalist Wall of Shame"?
http://jpquake.wikispaces.com/Journalist+Wall+of+Shame
Please check at this website's opinion about CNN (US)'s.

Every Japanese Friends need to keep her wits about one and courage to face her fear. They need not NEWS like CNN(US) was reported sensationally.
We are plagued by gloom and doom forecast, overblown issue, and misinformation from inside Japan.
Please you advise them coolly, Please. my spirit is broken...now.
