cussing this is really a discrimination!!! they took so many pics of him for NOTHING??? i should've known that American mags will never feature an Asian in the cover.

you would think that they had spent so much time for the photo shot, they would at least put a few more pictures. but nope, just a tiny picture - about 5cm x 8cm (1/9 of the page)

I'll try to scan it later when I get home.

Maybe they'll have an Asian verison of Men's vogue (like they have women's vogue in Taiwan, HK...etc)?

This is disappointing - but I never did believe they'd put him on the cover. That requires that most Americans know who Tony is (after all, folks buy a mag based on the cover).

BUT..... don't lose sight that this is tremendous exposure - another step towards building Tony's visibility here with a very high profile brand mag - and is sure to lead to good things (hopefully an exciting script that Tony likes with a great director over here!) Regardless, its great to see Tony recognized in print here - and I'll take it, no matter how small the picture! (I suppose we could also write into Vogue saying how we appreciate the story on him and build a groundswell of appreciation?!)

I'm sure it's the same as with most magazine shoots - they take a ton of pictures but only a few will end up getting published.

Thanks lemonberry. It is indeed a good exposure though, even if he is not on the cover. Looking forward to see the page.

Thanks lemonberry.

"I'm really not that desperate." I liked that! Cool We don't have to worry about him making a boo-boo Hollywood movie then Very Happy

The interview was done in Hong Kong and not NY? Wonder if it was before he went to NY or after.

Love the pic. He looks so alluring Drool

I agree with all of you, the least they shld have done is put his photo on the cover, but also as you rightly say Looney, it was a good exposure! Very Happy

I checked the details in the back of the magzine, it didn't give information of when the interview took place. However, it gave out information on Tony's clothes:
Jacket ($1,720) and turtleneck ($280); Jil Sander boutiques.

actually when I was reading the part on Tony asked the writer to join him for dinner and the writer turned it down because he has to meet his wife. (in my mind, I was thinking, how could he turn down such great opportunty?? okay, maybe only Tony fans will feel that way.) Then I go on to read that Tony had also invited his wife...what a gentleman! Wink

Dearest tony and all

I would still go for the fall of MEN'S VOGUE.
I like the article.
I like the atmosphere of the design still with the one of the photos that I liked to see.
Would not complain...
I had wondered how the volume of the article could be in a fashion magazine.
And in fact, the last thing that I want to see was kinda of situation
in which almost only photos as if he is like a model in a fashion magazine.

So, in a sense, say, it was vivid article matching with Tony's well laid-back sharpness that also fits into the right time for the film, 2046, in the USA.

The point is not, at the end of the day, if it was cover photo or not,
but is if his style was correctly delivered or not.
And in this case, it was. Soundly and finely, I assume.

Love dearest tony

My sentiments exactly! I was just think.."What!!!" Shocked too. Somehow,I was not surprised that he invited his wife along as well. It is just something that Tony would do. Ever so thoughtful and gentlemanly.

Imagine if he asked me for dinner. I'll definitely go kerplop! Laughing

I smiled when I read "I need champagne.". He really adores his bubbly. Wink
