Tony is coming to Taiwan on the 17th!!

Tony is coming here on the 17th as confirmed by the news today. Instead of Aug. 19 he will come earlier to promote 2046 to be aired on Star Mandarin on Aug. 20.

See you Tony in Taipei!!

Tony will arrive at the airport at 11:55am on the Aug. 17. On Aug. 18, there'll be a press conference at the hotel (Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel)

衛視電影台即將於８月20日晚上９點首播「2046」，原本邀請梁朝偉於19日來台，但為了提高宣傳效果，梁朝偉很有義氣地挪動檔期，將提前於17日中午11點55分抵達中正機場，18日下午在遠東飯店召開記者會。雖然跟裴勇俊的行程差了２天，不過衛視不讓自家影帝偉仔的行程規格比外人遜色，不惜為短短３天行程斥資百萬，除了與柯林頓相同的遠東飯店總統套房之外，更有10位保全隨行。

衛視熱情地擺出高規格接待，不過個性隨和的梁朝偉並沒有任何要求，只表示很想念台灣的小籠包、牛肉麵等美食，如有機會很想回味一下，此外也希望可以藉機會與侯孝賢導演好好敘舊。

由於行程在即，沒有足夠時間安排影友會，不過念舊惜情的梁朝偉，還是很掛念默默支持他多年的台灣影友們。近年來，梁朝偉也常上幾位影友製作的網站上，與他們互通訊息，此次來台，如有機會，梁朝偉也想見見這些很少見到的「老友」。

I think the TV station which is doing this promotion wants to make sure they get a lot of publicity. So I think they release the information to the press.

Also, the news said since Tony is leaving tomorrow, he didn't have enough time to plan a fans gathering. But he always think about his long time fans from Taiwan. In recent years, he has been going to some of his fans sites to communicate with his fans. This time he goes to Taipei, if there's a chance, he would like to see these "old friends".

Thanks Lemonberry for the info. I really appreciate whenever someone makes an effort to translate Chinese articles to English. What do you think of the press conference? will it be for the media people only or will they allow some fans?

Marsh - I think your best bet would be waiting outside the hotel when he arrives on the 17th. I am not sure how far the airport is from the hotel. Just estimated the time of his arrival, you might get a glimpse of him when he enters the hotel. if that doesn't work out, then at least you will get a second chance on the 18th. I am pretty sure the press conference is for reporters only, but you can try to hang around...

BTW, it said that they will provide 10 bodyguards for Tony and he'll be staying at the Presidential Suite.

the report said that Tony wishes to see some pals from Taiwan he met on the discussion board when he come to Taiwan.
And Tony call these pals from Taiwan as "old friends" Laughing

No, if he comes on 19th, I might meet him, but as he came on 17........duh!!!
