TONY LEUNG CHIU WAI LOVES SCORSESE AND DE NIRO, BUT IS HAPPY WITH A JIMMY STEWART FAIRYTALE.

IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE. (Available on DVD and video).

This was my first time playing a character without much dialogue or body language, which was challenging.

THE GODFATHER PARTS 1 AND 2. (Available on DVD and video)

It's special because of the actors: De Niro, Pacino, Brando. Their kind of Method acting influenced me greatly.

RAGING BULL. (Available on DVD and video)

De Niro and Joe Pesci know each other so well, like my co-star in Infernal Affairs, Andy Lau. Sometimes two people just have chemistry.

CITIZEN KANE. (Available on DVD and video)

A teacher showed it to me when I was a student and I was stunned.

I always remember the shot in Kane's house where there's no one there apart from statues. You really feel his loneliness.

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. (Available on DVD and video)

I love fairytales, and this film made me realise that you can do a fairytale without Snow White and dragons.

Tony Leung Chiu Wai is the star of Infernal Affairs

Good choices--Citizen Kane --is considered to be the 'most perfect' film ever made!!! By the American Film Institue--to the British Film Ins & the French.etc. I think this was made or released in 1939..
Hearst tried to stop it's release.

This was 'loosely' based on the life of William Randolph Hearst & his mistress Marion Davis--
Written,directed & ,starring the 'then' boy Wonder--Orson Welles at age 25 !!!

Here is what I think about the films:)

In the Mood for Love- Flawless for me a masterpiece (but keep in mind that I love Wong Kar Wai and all the films he has directed)

I like Godfather I & II (I like the first one better but I'm in the minority on that one)

Raging Bull is also ok but I can understand why an actor/actress would like it since De Niro is mesmerizing. It is one of the best performances ever been given. I dislike Joe Pesci a lot though (I don't know what but something about him bothers me) so it is hard for any film he is in to be my fave-except Goodfellas now that was a wonderful, wonderful film and Pesci's least annoying.

Citizien Kane is loved by everyone who likes film, it is not a fave of mine but it is hard (almost impossible) not be cinematically (is there a word like that??) impressed by it.

It's a Wonderful Life - definitely not a fave, it was too long and just.... too much I guess. bzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Noooooo! I love ITMFL! Heavens sake I watch the darn thing at least once a fortnight! Laughing
No just the others that Tony liked, Wonderful Life etc. Never managed to stay awake through that. Not to say I don't like old films though. I have many on VHS video especially ones with Stewart Granger. Eg Scaramouche, Bhowani Junction, Green Fire, Saraband For Dead Lovers and Moonfleet..plus many others.
