Hello Helga and kat,

Thank you for your kind and suggestive advices.
May be it’s not a matter of finding Mr. R.
A bit of boldness is required to become Miss R, to find inner self Wink
Don’t worry, I’m not the one hiding in the closet. (You know, I’m too big. )
But I don’t think I can be as bold as soldiers in The Hurt Locker. Cool

Yuko dear,
I was just sick and tired to be sooo wise and proper (sooo boring!).
I am sure you are a big girl now and know your own mind.

But if you change idea, you know where I am Wink !

... Meanwhile,
Given that life is a looong and cooomplicated thing, I send ALL of you this
Zen Koan...

"The plum tree, dwindling, contains less of the spring; But the garden is wider, and holds more of the moon".

(from Haiku Volume 1 – Eastern Culture, R.H.Blyth)

... and, seen that my camellia japonica are flowering (at last!), this...

“Camelia-Petal
Fell in silent dawn
Spilling
A water jewel”

[Matsuo Basho (1644-1694)]

Bye,
a Big Hug & Kiss

I want to clear up my last comment:

Really did not want to hurt anybody nor sound like an old "know-it-all" -
only wanted to encourage you a bit - dear shy girls !

I guess it is a question of culture, religion, tradition, rules and education.... too - whether self-confidence, self-government, individualism, women rights.... are valued positive and accepted in society and family ...or not.
This probably influences all of us, - how we do, - how we manage and handle our life.
The more and stricter the "rules", the more difficult to find our individual way for personal happiness - (without neglecting other important responsibilities.) Very hard decisions sometimes, yes, but: at the end it is us/ourself to realize a full life.

If you enjoy your independence, feel happy, content and satisfied - you are a "lucky dog" and have no problem at all !
If you are not happy, feel often lonely and sad, long for a dear comrade, a partnership - you´ll have to react and take the initiative for a change!

Most important of all, you´ll have to join "social life" and meet people with simillar interests( f. ex. in different courses/classes of your interest, maybe dance classes, choir-singing,.......Cooking for "Singles", Club for "Aficionados" of wine......whatever! )
And if you meet sombody sympathic, you want to get to know....Have the healthy SELF-CONFIDENCE to take the plunge - RISK to do the important little "first step". Smile and TRY, cause you are a self-responsible adult and nobody will "bite" you for after all, - but everything can change for better !

You must know: Unfortunately the sweetest guys are often to shy too !!!! - even more than you, and will thank you for your initiative !!!

Your Motto: "No risk - no chance (fun)" - (and if it fails once, or maybe twice - TRY AGAIN !)

Hope, I did not offend you with my plain and direct "western" kind/sight (BTW: I would tell my daughters the same advices !)

So, I´ll shut my mouth now, in this delicate case -
Wish you courage and GOOD LUCK !

Dear Yuka,
You are a wonderful, sensitive, intelligent and couragous woman with sweet humour - definitely a "Miss Right" - no doubt !

Hi Saf and everyone in the forum! I don't think your words are offending. You really have a big point. And for Katwoman, I am now considering the words " TO BE BOLD" . Honestly, when it comes to guys, that's the trait I don't have. Embarassed I will really think about your advice, as in really. Wink

Dear marsha and everyone,

I couldn't write anything because I thought everyone's different.
Instead, I would like to dedicate this song to Tony and everyone here.

It is a little late, but this song is called "March 9th" by a Japanese Band called "Remioromen".
This one is very popular at graduation ceremonies ( in March in Japan) or wedding receptions.
I think it is ideal to find a partner or friends who you can feel like this song.
Enjoy the SAKURA (cherry blossoms) as well. (Helga, remember last year ?)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j1JpwKETbU&feature=related

(My translation of the lyrics)

In the middle of the changing season
I suddenly feel the day light is getting longer

In the middle of the days quickly passing by
You and I, we are dreaming together

Put my thought with the feeling of spring winds in March
The cherry blossom buds continue to bloom into spring

Overflowing the drops of the light
Little by little, warming up the mornings

Being beside me,
You are shyly smiling after a long yawn

We are standing at the entrance to the new world
What I've realized is that I am not alone

If I close my eyes, I can see you
You are always on my mind

How strong this has made me,
And I hope I am the same for you

In the dusty whirlwind
The laundry is tangled

The white moon before the noon,
which was so beautiful, I couldn't look away

Sometimes things don't go as you planned
But if you look up the sky, they seem so small

The blue sky is so clear
And the fluffy clouds are floating

If we can share the joy of waiting
for the blooming of flowers, we will be happy

Wish you are smiling beside me forever

If I close my eyes, I can see you
You are always on my mind

How strong this has made me,
And I hope I am the same for you

Dear Eri,
this song is so very beautiful. Thanks, from the bottom of my heart.
The one that represents me the most is "When I fall in love, it will be forever" because that was for me.

Dear Yuko,
I very much hope that you don't change anything about yourself to become a "Miss R.". If we are ready to forgive faults and sins, we have the right to the same treatement. And, moreover, we can't change who we are. We can fake it, but the energy that it takes is too much in the long run. Try to imagine that a partner forces you to never be Tony's fan. It would be a thing you keep in the secret of your mind and heart. And you can't share. That would be a definite no, no, no!

Dear Marsha,
Being bold doesn't mean being too forward. If you get to meet boys very often, in the end you will talk to them as you would do a girl friend or a colleague. Practice makes perfect! And never forget that "the shy ones" like you, are the best listeners (very, very important thing)!

Dear Helga,
You said a gret truth: often the sweetest guys are the shyest too Shocked !

A Kiss to you All, and enjoy the Sakuras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Helga and Kat,
What you’re saying has an universal value and also comes from your own experience.
I know that you two are great mothers. Your daughters must be proud of you. Very Happy
Kat, you’re right. We can fake, but it’s difficult to transform one’s character completely.
BTW, I’m literally too big to be confined in the closet. Laughing

I like March 9 song, too. When I read Eri’s translation,
I saw it in a fresh light reminding me what a beautiful lyrics it has.
Thank you for your beautiful translation !
Helga, did you notice the sakura blossoms in you tube ?
I’ll send you pictures when time comes Wink

Have a nice weekend !

Dear Spring-feeling girls !

March sun is shining bright and strong - and melts away the snow,
like you are warming gentle my late-summer-heart.

Looking forward to your Sakura fotos, Yuka

Have a beautyful weekend too - dear friends (and do not change!)

Dear Helga, Kat, Yuka, and everyone,

I know most of you don't understand Japanese lyrics of course, but I like this song because what's said in this is the truth in anywhere and in any relationships.

I think people can be strong and extend their capacity if it is for someone you really care. For family, friends or simply someone you like.
For example, just like mothers do something unbelievable and not possibly done in usual situation, at the time of emergency etc to help their children.

Even if it is not such a big thing, in my case, I am lazy and easily give up things if it is only for myself, but if it is for someone I care, I can make some extra efforts.

I value this a lot. People who can make me strong is very important for me and I also would like to be the same for others.

Have a relaxing Sunday, everyone !

PS Good luck to the girls who're waiting for Mr. R. Please find someone who encourages you to be yourself and for whom you are happy to make the extra efforts.

Wink
