I just remembered the beautiful Sakura-days with my family in Tokyo because I did read an article about the new family- movie "Hachiko" from Lasse Hallström, with R.Gere.
Memories:
For two exciting hours I "got lost" in Tokyo, on a market near Ueno-Park - without money or ticket..... nevertheless I later found our meeting point at Shibuya Station - the bronce-statue of Hachiko !

Hope you all are well and fine - You are often in my mind !

Dear Helga,

Hope you and your family are doing well.

Tokyo is getting cold day by day Sad
As you can guess ( I hope, ha-ha) Hachiko is not a kind movie which I spend my money(sorry!),
but when I was a child I've been told of Hachiko (a loyal dog )story a million times...
Yes, it's still a very famous meeting spot in Shibuya.
( I don't like Shibuya especially crossing point ..too many people and makes me feel uneasy )

Recently, I watched "mother" directed by Bong Joon-ho.
(world premiere at Cannes 2009) Dark but a great movie and a great actress. Wink
Bond between mother and her son is so strong.....
If you have a chance, please watch it.
I like his "Memories of murder", too.

Hello Yuka
Thank you, my family and me are fine - and I hope the same for you !

"Bong Joon-ho" - I will make a note !
"Dark movie, great actress"..... the psychological problem.....sounds very interesting and seem to be my movie-taste (as you know I love some dark Korean directors) the mentioned two films I do not know yet - unfortunately !

"Hakicho" might be a nice "family-movie" with a nice intelligent dog (always promising).....for foggy, cold Winter afternoons and Christmas Holidays.....o.K - and - with a respectable direktor.
My "problem" is Richard Gere - as actor ! (sorry RG fans - this is my personal opinion) He gets my only "sympathy-point" for being a possibly serious Buddhist in Hollywood ! You are right not to spend your money for !

Ohh, I am a bad girl today - I better finish now.

Have a nice week dear friend - in autumnal Tokyo!

Before I will watch the western version of "Red Cliff" (hope soon) and after all that various comments in Forum, I wanted to "freshen up" and to be prepared better!
So (instead of my Friday cleaning action-hahaha) I just watched the Japanese "Making-of and Interviews... DVD" of RC 1+2" - again (- once more a heartly +++Thank you+++ to my Japanese Sakura-TT-Friends for this kind and attentive present, and the magazines - with wonderful Tony-fotos !)
Of course I did not understand Chinese or Japanese...comments and interviews, BUT- I have eyes to watch (and have seen and read several english translated interviews too). The work of John Woo and his team, actors, different specialists, helpers and thousand of Extras is great, unbelievable and a unique project. It has been realized under very hard conditions and, though I am not the biggest fan of monumental History-Movies, I only can bewonder !
- I am very curious about !
