Lee's 'Caution' gets H.K. green light

HONG KONG -- Director Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution" will have its Asian premiere Sept. 23 as the opening-night film of the fourth annual Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, organizers said Thursday.
Also having their Asian premieres in Hong Kong will be Stanley Tam's "Breeze in July" and Jia Zhangke's "Useless," which will close the independent film festival Oct. 10.
The festival's joint organizers, exhibitor Broadway Cinematheque and indie film distributor Ying E Chi, will present the New Talent Award to a leading new Asian directing talent. Last year, the award was given to Ho Yuhang for "Rain Dogs."
Since its inception in 2003, the festival has grown rapidly, expanding this year to 80 films from 15 countries, including works in three new categories: Chinese Cinema: A New Generation, Asian Classics and Festival Gala.
The Festival Gala program will see veteran Chinese actor-director Jiang Wen present and discuss his much anticipated third film as a director, "The Sun Also Rises." Hong Kong director Pang Ho-cheung will do the same for his film "Exodus."

Hi Summertime:
I hope my message finds you well. I was wondering if you have any news of whether or not Tony will be in HK for the Asian Premiere of Lust, Caution on September 23rd.
Well, OK. Take care.
Cheers,

Tony hasn't confirmed whether he could take leave from <Red Cliffs> and joined the premiere in Hong Kong. |
