Tony attended the press conference for the HK International Film Mart and was appointed this year's Hong Kong Entertainment Ambassador. He hopes to do his best to introduce Hong Kong's excellent products aboard. He believes with the backup of the huge market in China, plus the world is more aware of HK production, the HK film industry could be strong again if everyone makes their effort.

As for Maggie Cheung Man Yuk's comment that she does not understand why he continues to make so many movies, Wai Jai says, "Each person's direction is different. This place cultivated me. Each actor will make different types of movies. As long as a movie is fun and something I like I will make it. I am a very hard working actor, but I can't deny other actors' direction. Although I don't know how the movie will come out, it may succeed and it may fail, but I still enjoy the filmmaking process."

Wai Jai's girlfriend Carina Lau Ka Ling has been working on a television series in Shanghai. Recently a magazine claims that Ka Ling has been hanging out with her co-star Hu Jun all the time. Wai Jai replied in a lax manner, "No one believes it. You all know entertainment magazine reports are like that. (Will you visit Ka Ling?) No, I am very busy."


Speaking of New York magazine's high praises for 2046, Wai Jai as its lead actor honestly says that he feels satisfied with the film. Ultimately it took years to make and the actors all had a hard time. Good results in the end are considered rewards. 2046 will hold its Asian premiere in mid September. Wai Jai next year will have to promote around the world, several cities at least in America and China alone.

對 於 好 友 張 曼 玉 不 明 白 他 為 何 濫 拍 一 些 沒 有 誠 意 的 商 業 電 影 ， 偉 仔 從 容 地 說 ﹕ 「 每 個 人 的 取 向 都 唔 同 ， 我 是 這 個 地 方 （ 香 港 影 圈 ） 培 育 出 來 ， 我 由 第 一 日 演 戲 開 始 ， 是 鍾 意 演 戲 而 演 戲 ， 從 沒 有 將 電 影 去 分 類 ， 覺 得 好 玩 就 試 下 ， 我 是 個 很 勤 力 的 演 員 。 其 實 香 港 很 多 演 員 都 很 多 元 化 ， 拍 喜 劇 又 得 、 驚 慄 片 又 得 、 主 流 電 影 又 得 、 藝 術 片 又 得 ， 我 唔 否 定 一 些 演 員 對 某 類 電 影 才 有 興 趣 去 拍 ， 但 我 拍 戲 是 享 受 過 程 和 合 作 時 的 氣 氛 ， 劇 本 只 是 文 字 ， 出 來 的 影 像 好 與 否 、 成 和 敗 是 無 人 知 曉 ， 都 是 經 驗 ， 沒 有 這 些 經 驗 下 次 怎 會 做 得 更 好 ﹖ 」

嘉 玲 胡 軍 緋 聞 得 啖 笑

身 在 上 海 的 劉 嘉 玲 和 合 演 電 視 劇 《 一 江 春 水 向 東 流 》 的 男 主 角 胡 軍 傳 出 緋 聞 ， 偉 仔 禁 不 住 笑 說 ﹕ 「 實 係 咁 （ 做 新 聞 ） ﹗ 大 家 唔 覺 得 現 在 某 些 娛 樂 新 聞 、 雜 誌 係 咁 ， 當 花 邊 新 聞 去 睇 ， 得 啖 笑 ﹗ 」 有 無 和 嘉 玲 每 日 通 電 話 ﹖ 「 唔 使 啩 ﹗ 」

另 外 ， 紐 約 雜 誌 對 《 2046 》 評 價 很 高 ， 偉 仔 稱 看 完 該 片 都 很 滿 意 ， 辛 苦 多 年 算 對 自 己 有 個 交 代 ﹔ 而 該 片 9 月 中 首 映 後 ， 便 展 開 長 達 1 年 的 世 界 宣 傳 活 動 。
