5/11, Flower like years has finally found a title "In the mood for
love". In the mood for love is scheduled to premiere May 20th in
Cannes. Two movie posters are already made for Cannes. WKW has yet to
decide which one he will bring to Cannes. Within a few days, WKW will be
heading to Cannes, he is accompanied by Tony and William Chan. Maggie is
in Europe at this moment, she will join the group later.
4/16, Tony came back HK two days ago attending Cyclo's premiere. (Cyclo
was shot in 1995, won the best director of Venice Film Festival of the
same year, but it's never publicly released in HK.) A local HK
film distributor bought out the right to release this year. Tony was
shooting Flower like years in Thailand during all these time. Flower like
years is at the end of the shooting days; all eyes are set for Cannes in
May. 2046 will resume once the hectic is over. Tony said he is due back
Thailand after HKFA. He is a guest presenter for the award.
Rumor has it Kimura was frustrated with WKW's scripts again. Tony
responds he had only shot two scenes with Kimura, He didn't see anything
frictions between WKW/Kimura. More rumors: Carina was again been seen
going out with the taiwanese actor Liu Chen Zhe (they had a rumored
brief affair before). On the same night, she was also spotted
dancing with her ex-boyfriend Henry. (If you couldn't follow this,
I certainly understand, I had trouble translating all of these very
complicated relationships. Whew!) Asked Tony if he has any
concerns, all he said was, " Really? Oh, socializing with friend, no
big deal." Asked if they had an open relationship (AKA they have no
obligations to each other, free to date whoever they like), Tony
replied,"Ridiculous, I have been so busy for the last six months, how
do I find the time to date other gals?" (Basically, you can
make whatever assumptions you like with this reply. I don't know about
you, but it's the first impression comes to my mind.) BTW,
Congratulations to Andy Lau, this year's HKFA Best Actor. He has finally
arrived; he deserves it very much so.
3/27, Tony made an appearance for a charity event yesterday in HK. Tony
is in a chatty mood. He shares gossips with the reporters on the Faye Wong
and Nicholas Tse's latest romance. (hmm, you think he would have the
inside scoop... Carina is a close friend of Faye.) He also spent time
discussing future plans. Tony confirms his next project would be Jingle Ma
Choh Shing(director of Tokyo Raiders)'s Ai Yu Cheng(AKA Love and Trust).
The cast also includes Gigi Leung and Daniel Chan. Tony declined the offer
to play Chen Shui-bian(a chronicle biography on Taiwan newly elected
President). He has yet to met with Wong Ji to discuss on Wong's new movie.
Check out the boards
for further gossiping.
3/8, A documentary of Happy Together called "BA Zero Degree"
will be released in HK. This documentary film includes scenes that were
cut out from the final version, scenes like Leslie/Tony learning Tango,
Tony taking shower, Shirley Kwan (the lead actress who was cut from the
final release) kissing Tony. Apparently, Happy Together was suppose to end
like this: Tony the character was so distraught and attempted suicide, cut
himself with a knife. But WKW had a heart change after the shot was taken.
During the filming, Tony grew more and more homesick, and he's eager to go
back to HK. So WKW followed his instinct, and shot another finale with
Tony returning to HK.?The story ended in a blithe note.
2/23, Tony and Kenny Bee were sighted car-racing last night in HK. They
had a model car race. According to the pedestrians, Tony was in a good
mood. Kenny brought along his girlfriend to watch the race, they were also
accompanied by two other friends. Tony had been playing with model cars
for more than 10 years. Kenny has just started enjoying this sport.
Yesterday was also Kenny's birthday. Tony, Maggie Cheung were among some
of the guests who attended his b-day party.
2/11, new Tony sighting! Tony is celebrating Chinese New Year in HK
right now. He is a very happy camper. Tokyo Raiders has nested 2000 Mil in
HK so far, and currently it's leading the box office. Tony went with Kenny
Bee/Bee's girlfriend to a hobby store yesterday. Lately, Tony often drops
by Kenny's Golf Course. They spent lots time together building model
airplanes, and flying it at the golf course. Yesterday, he brought one of
his badly damaged airplane to the shop for fixing, while buying a few more
models to build later. Most of the aircrafts he bought are beginner level,
costs around $1000 HK.
2/1, Tony returned just in time for Andy Lau's Teamwork Reunion Dinner.
Andy Lau's movie company Teamwork had a grand Reopening dinner last night,
many guests attended, including Jacky Chan, Leslie Cheung, Alan Tam, Anita
Mui, and the four tigers. It's been a long time since the last reunion for
five tigers. Tony was the last tiger to arrive because he had just come
back from Shanghai, and had only two hours of sleep. He said Andy has
truly dedicated himself to make good movies, being a dear friend, he wants
to come and support for such noble cause. Asked if he wants to become a
producer like Andy, Tony said it's too much pressure, he rather not. Tony
hopes to see the five tigers to team up again in a movie, but would he be
willing to take a pay cut? No, Answered by Tony.
2/1, Tokyo Raiders is currently leading the box office. In just three
days, the ticket sale has escalated to nearly 600 Mil. Tony and Ekin went
to Shanghai for a promotional trip yesterday. Thousand ecstatic fans
greeted them. Ekin said he would host a party if the sale reaches 2000
Million. To get one up on him, Tony said he would hold a bigger party if
the sale goes up to 3000 Mil. With such strong early sales, these parties
seem inevitable; start writing that check for the party, Tony. Though I
haven't seen the movie myself, but I have already read rave reviews on it.
Tony really shines in the role of detective. Because the early success,
the director is planning to do a sequel on the film. So be prepared to see
Tokyo Raider Part II in the very near future.
On a different note, Kimura revealed that WKW regards secrecy as his
top priority, he was asked to put the script into paper shredder after
finish reading. So how does Tony fare with that? He just laughed it off
and said it's exaggerating the truth.
1/28, Tony arrives just in time for Tokyo Raiders Premiere. He had came
directly from the airport to attend the Hong Kong Premiere. Hong Kong was
attacked by a bad cold front and the temperature was dropped lower than
normal, being a native Hongkonger, Tony didn't expect to see this kind of
weather in his hometown. He was all shivering after he arrived. While he
was being interviewed, Tony kept begging the reporters to leave him so he
could go use the restroom, he was all cold, hungry, and bloating, but to
no avail, he was crowded in a sea of reporters. Though he kept saying he
needs go potty, the reporter just mugged him with questions upon
questions. Finally when they run out of questions to ask, they kindly let
Tony leave. (Thank God, Else, we might get a kidney burst patient on hand
by now. LOL, Pardon me for my occasionally out-of-control thoughts.) So,
what are some of the things Tony talk about? He talked about the movie
Tokyo Raiders,"The most difficult part of the movie is doing action.
another note, Japanese goods are way more expensive than HK." (Tony's
bank account must have suffered tremendously during his stay in Japan. LOL)
As for Flower Like Years, "WKW had found this place in Thailand
closely resembled the 60's HK, so we re-take some of the scenes. Flowers
is now in post production." As for Maggie's rumored divorce, Tony
laughed it off and said it's ridiculous.

1/13, Tokyo Invasion Plan will be released early Feburary in Hong Kong.
Shown above, one of scenes from Tokyo Invasion Plan, Tony was chased by
some bad guys, and he had to escape with his skate-board. The cool thing
about this skate-board is that it skates on grass as well as on bare
ground. According to this report, Tony had a lot of fun playing with it.
The report also mentioned that Tony might come back to Hong Kong to
promote Tokyo once it's released. I am a big roller-blading fan,
someday, I might try the skate-board just for the heck of it. It looks
like a lot of fun. :)
1/13, For all your enthusiastic WKW fans out there, here is nice
article on Sight
and Sound.
